Introduction
State of Mic aims to exchange talent, music (hiphop) and video productions between Gambia (West-Africa) and the Netherlands. In march 2007 the State of Mic team have been to Serrekunda in Gambia (West-Africa). Together with local talent they have build a training centre, recording studio and exchanged knowledge about audio en video producing. Future productions from the trainingcentre will be presented on the State of Mic website.
Follow up
On the 24th of april we will present the State of Mic album @ the LVC in Leiden. The album contains tracks from dutch artists as well as gambian artists who participate in the project. In may of this year the State of Mic team will go back to Gambia to provide more training in audio and video technics. Also 2 dutch artists will come to the Gambia to record a track in the State of Mic studio and shoot a video clip. The result of this trip can be found on this site in the near future.
